A crucial part of social media management is knowing how to use your words to meet the moment: Can you give it the respect it deserves? Do you understand the pop culture importance around it? Do you know when to keep it simple and when to put some emotion behind it? Can you suss out the time for a perfect comeback or do you know when to fall back?

As a former journalism major and editor on my college paper, using my words has always been a key strength I can bring to the table. Speaking the language of your audience, matching their emotions, and talking to them, not at them, are all things I have spent years fine tuning.
